A large Buddhist complex, home to around 5000 monks & nuns, Namdroling Monastery is a slice of Buddhism in South India. Its gorgeous Golden Temple, presided by three 18m high Buddha statues, is quite striking.
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple is a beautiful blend of Indian, Islamic and Gothic architectural elements. Check out its beautiful dome, and slender minarets and feed the fish in the large temple tank.
Nagarhole, literally translating into “Snake River”, takes its name from the Manas River charting a serpentine course through the park. Tigers, jungle bison, sloth bears, and Asiatic elephants, are the big game found here.
